Detailed Net Nanny experience

I bought the multi-device bundle for Net Nanny last month for our family. The ordering process on the ContentWatch website was smooth, and I received the activation key almost instantly via email. Installation on Windows and Android devices went without a hitch, maybe 10 minutes per device. The iOS parental controls took a little longer due to Apple's restrictions, but the instructions provided were clear. The pornography filter and website blocker have been effective. I also tested the location tracking, which seemed accurate enough. I appreciate being able to manage everything from a single console, though it does take a minute to load sometimes. Customer support, when I had a question about changing a setting, replied within 24 hours and was helpful. It's a comprehensive solution for online safety.

Worked well, pretty simple

Got the Net Nanny parental control software a few weeks ago. It was pretty straightforward to install on the kids' tablets and my phone. No real issues setting it up. It does a decent job blocking stuff and I can see what they're looking at. Seems like a solid option if you need something like this.

Good filtering, minor glitch

I signed up for the Net Nanny annual plan a month ago. The internet filtering and app blocking work really well on my son's iPad and my old laptop. It was easy to set up the rules and I like the activity reporting. My only small gripe is that the remote management console was a bit slow to update sometimes when I made changes, but it eventually caught up. Overall, it's good value for the price and keeps the kids safe online.

Consistently reliable protection

This is my third year renewing Net Nanny, and it continues to be a solid choice for our family. Each year, the renewal process is easy, and the software just keeps working without much fuss. I've tried other brands in the past, but I always come back to ContentWatch because of how dependable Net Nanny is for filtering and managing screen time across all our devices. It's comforting to know we have consistent protection.

My promo code isn't working at checkout. Am I putting it in the wrong place or something?

R Rachel C. 1 month ago
Usually, there's a box right on the checkout page for promo codes. Make sure it's for new subscriptions, as sometimes they have different codes for renewals.

It should be on the final payment page. Also, make sure it's not expired. Sometimes codes are time-sensitive.

hey, was thinking about getting Net Nanny for the kids. Does it actually work on all devices? Like, ipads and their android tablets?

O Omar 2 months ago
Yeah, it totally does. I use it on my son's iPad and my daughter's old Samsung tablet. Haven't had any issues with either.

They say it works on iOS and Android. I've only used it on Windows and iPhone myself, but it's been solid for those.

I'm trying to decide between Net Nanny and Qustodio. Has anyone used both and can tell me which one is better for social media stuff and YouTube?

F Faith Hughes 2 months ago
I tried Qustodio first, then switched to Net Nanny. Net Nanny's YouTube monitoring felt more robust to me, and it handles social media app blocking pretty well. Qustodio was okay, but Net Nanny felt more comprehensive.

Depends on what you need. Net Nanny is pretty good with social media and app blocking, especially the newer features they added. Qustodio is also decent, but I personally found Net Nanny's interface a bit easier to navigate for those specific controls.

how easy is it to cancel ContentWatch if I don't like it? Or is there a money-back thing?

T Todd M. 1 month ago
There's a money-back guarantee, I think it's for 30 days. So if you're not happy, you can get a refund. Cancellation was pretty straightforward when I checked their policy.

I haven't cancelled myself but I know they have a money-back guarantee. Always good to have that safety net.

Does ContentWatch actually slow down internet speeds? My connection is already kinda iffy.

N Neil 2 months ago
I haven't noticed any significant slowdowns since installing it. It runs in the background pretty smoothly for me.

R Rachel Q. 2 months ago
Afaik, it's not supposed to slow down your internet much. I have a decent connection and haven't had any issues with buffering or anything like that when it's active.

Does Net Nanny usually have good deals around Black Friday or Cyber Monday? Thinking of waiting to buy.

N Noor 2 months ago
Oh yeah, they totally do. I grabbed my subscription last Black Friday and got a really good percentage off the annual plan. Definitely worth waiting a bit if you can.

They usually have sales for those big shopping holidays. Keep an eye out starting November, you should see something.

Are there any student discounts for Net Nanny? My college kid needs something to keep him off certain sites while studying (lol).

M Mike Okafor 2 months ago
I think I saw something about a student discount on their FAQ page. Might be worth checking there or emailing them directly.

G Gwen M. 2 months ago
Yeah, they do. I got one for my niece last year. You usually have to verify student status, but it's a decent saving.
